Mardi Himal trek is probably one of the most scenic places in the world. The trek offers the majestic views of the Annapurna Range, Mount Fishtail and Mardi Himal. The ridge which takes the trail up to the base camp is one of the best Annapurna region can offer. It’s not just the view of 360° mountains but the viewpoints for sunrise & sunset, views of Ghandruk village, Annapurna Base camp trek trail and the view of Pokhara Valley.
We took a different route to trek up to the base camp. We started from Taal-Pari at Pokhara and ended first day at beautiful traditional Ghandruk village via Sarangkot. Then we started our trek from Ghnadruk to Kot-danda where we stayed overnight camping. Following day we trekked down to Jhinu where entire team enjoyed bath in the natural Hot-spring. Then, the team trekked to Landruk spent overnight and then trekked to Forest Camp next day. This is the point where multiple trails meet to single the trail to Mardi Himal. We took next 4 days to reach the base camp and then returned down to Pokhara on Helicopter.
We had a very challenging scenario where one of our videographer was bitten by dog on mouth while landing the drone. A few got upper respiratory infections otherwise rest of the team did fine. However, everyone in the team returned back home healthy and blessed from the mountains.
